Scheduling

Equipment scheduling is conducted through the ACSC Scheduler.  After training has been completed, the researcher will be given access to reserve the instrument on the website.  Reservations are required, and must be made at least 24 hours in advance to allow time for the Laboratory Manager to make any necessary changes to the equipment for a specific analysis.  Cancelations need to be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled reservation time to allow other users to sign up for that time period.  No-shows will still be charged for the time of their reservation.  Researchers found to be using the equipment without scheduling will lose their privileges to use the equipment in the service center. By using the ACSC scheduler you acknowledge that you agree to follow the requirements outlined in the ACSC Use Policy.

An Interdepartmental Request and Invoice (IRI) is required before using the instrumentation.    This will ensure that users have permission from their PI to utilize the equipment.  If a PI with a blanket IRI would like to require their group members to obtain prior approval before scheduling each use of the equipment, this can be arranged with the Laboratory Manager.  Costs can be calculated using the rates listed on the website.

In almost all cases, scheduling is conducted on a first come, first served basis, so please plan accordingly.  Most equipment in the Analytical Chemistry Service Center is the property of the Department, but in some cases a piece of equipment is the property of a PI.  Scheduling priority is given to the PI of a specific piece of equipment.

Please refer to the ACSC Use Policy for a list of services provided, scheduling, training, and payment policies.
