Software Acquisition and Procedures
Obtaining discounted software:
The two major sources for discounted software through WSU are the 'Tech Tools' section of MyWSU and the WSU Site License office.
The WSU Site License office deals with departmental software purchases whereas the the MyWSU link deals with purchases made by individuals.
Department Provided Software:
The faculty have decided that certain research software packages are important enough to all the research groups that it should be available free to the members of the department. These are:
SAS (available at the College level)
Matlab (BSysE - 5 user concurrent license)
Sigmaplot (BSysE - 5 user concurrent license)
Endnote (BSysE - 5 user concurrent license)
Note: '5 user concurrent license' means that the software can be installed on any number of computers but only 5 users at any given time can use the software.
SAS is provided at the college (CAHNRS) level and instructions for its installation are here.
Sigmaplot and Endnote can be installed automatically after permission is given to the folder.
Matlab needs the original CD (or equivalent) for installation. To accomplish this you need to coordinate with Vince Himsl.
