Scheduling Department Resources

Overview

Ref: Connect Support

Resources:

The following resources can be and must be scheduled and reserved:

Rooms:

LJSmith 217 (The small conference room)
LJSmith 259 (Large Class room)
LJSmith 263 (Large Conference room)
LJSmith 264 (Small Class room)

Projectors:

DLP projector used for formal presentations
LCD projector used for informal presentations

Vehicles:

Chevrolet Pickup Truck

Overview:

To maintain control and privacy, each resource was given an active directory account. In effect, each resource is a person with a private calendar that is shared to the department. You connect to this calendar and schedule a meeting. You are then reserving that resource for that time and date.

Procedures:

There are two ways to schedule a departmental resource. One is to use your web browser and the other is to use Microsoft Outlook. Or you can do both.

Using Microsoft Outlook is recommended for on campus (or off campus using VPN) as you need to connect to the resources only once. After that, they are permanently available to you at any time (shared calendar) by simply clicking on it in Outlook.

Using your web browser is recommended when you are off campus and you do not have access to your Microsoft Outlook calendars.

If you have a problems after trying the procedures yourself, contact Vince Himsl for Assistance.
